Saint Uriel the Archangel (Άγιος Ουριήλ) hand painted Orthodox Byzantine icon, entirely hand made on canvas with crocus, set in a gold leaf gilded background. It is in accord with the style the tradition and the criteria of the Macedonian school of Agio Oros ( Mount Athos ).In the Greek Orthodox church, Uriel is commemorated together with the other archangels and angels with a feast day of the "Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Other Bodiless Powers" on November 8 of the liturgical calander (for those churches which follow the Julian Calander, 8 November falls on 21 November of the modern Gregorian Calander), and is regarded as the patron saint of the arts and sciences. In addition, every Monday throughout the year is dedicated to the angels.
