Saint Xenia (Η Αγία Ξένια).
This serene hand-painted icon honors Saint Xenia of St. Petersburg, one of the most beloved Fool-for-Christ saints of the Orthodox Church. Painted in traditional Byzantine style with egg tempera and adorned with genuine 22K gold leaf, the icon is mounted on asymmetrically hand-carved natural wood, embodying both her earthly humility and heavenly grace.
After the unexpected death of her husband, Saint Xenia gave away all her possessions and took upon herself a life of holy foolishness, wandering the streets of St. Petersburg in her late husband’s clothing and answering only to his name. She bore the scorn of many in silence, performing hidden acts of mercy, prayer, and intercession. Her life became a powerful witness to radical faith, detachment, and trust in God's providence.
Even today, Saint Xenia is widely venerated as a protector of the homeless, a guide to those seeking employment, and an intercessor for the poor and brokenhearted.
